Urban Studies

Parking and directions

The Center for Urban Studies is located in the Academic/Administration Building (A/AB) at 5700 Cass Ave, which is at the northeast corner of Cass and Palmer (across from Byblos Middle Eastern Café).  To reach our offices, you will take the elevator to the second floor. You will take a right out of the elevator and head straight into the Center for Urban Studies. Please check-in at the front desk, which will be on your left as you enter the lobby area.
 

Parking information

If you have a Guest Parking Card, it can be used at: 
  • Parking Structure 1, located on the northwest corner of Cass and Palmer (structure entrance is on Palmer); or
  • Parking Lot 23 is located just east of the A/AB on Palmer between Cass and Woodward.  

Guests must swipe the guest parking card upon both entry and exit. Credit cards are also accepted at these parking locations. Visit http://parking.wayne.edu for current parking rates. There is also metered parking along Cass Avenue. 

Driving directions

Lodge Freeway (south) 

  1. Take the Lodge Freeway south and exit at the Forest-Warren exit.
  2. Proceed to light and make a left on Forest. Proceed on Forest to Cass.
  3. Make a left on Cass. Proceed on Cass to Palmer.  

Lodge Freeway (north)

  1. Take the Lodge Freeway north and exit at Forest-Warren exit.
  2. Make a right on Forest. Proceed on Forest to Cass.
  3. Make a left on Cass. Proceed on Cass to Palmer.  

I-94 (west)

  1. Take I-94 west to John R/Woodward exit (right side). Continue west along the Service Drive.
  2. As you cross Woodward Avenue, the service drive becomes Antoinette. Continue on Antoinette.  
  3. Make a left on Cass Avenue. Proceed on Cass to Palmer.

I-94 (east) [from DTW airport]

  1. Take I-94 east to the John R/Woodward exit.
  2. Make right on John R.
  3. Proceed to Palmer and make right. Proceed on Palmer to Cass.

I-96 (east)

  1. Take I-96 east to I-94 east (toward Port Huron).
  2. Proceed on I-94 east to the John R/Woodward exit.
  3. Make right on John R.
  4. Proceed to Palmer and make right. Proceed on Palmer to Cass.

I-75 (south)

  1. Take I-75 south and exit at Warren.  
  2. Go to light and turn right on Warren. Proceed on Warren to Cass.  
  3. Make a right on Cass. Proceed on Cass to Palmer.  

I-75 (north)

  1. Take I-75 north and exit at Warren.  
  2. Go to light and turn left on Warren. Proceed on Warren to Cass.  
  3. Make a right on Cass. Proceed on Cass to Palmer.
