Biography

Cameron Johnson began working at the Center for Urban Studies in early 2023 after graduating the year prior with a degree in Political Science. He is strongly committed to community engagement, and the belief that the best way to get something done is to do it yourself. This has manifested itself in both volunteer work and working on grassroot political campaigns across the globe.

Since joining Americorps, he has had a hand in multiple projects, but is currently focused on water filtration, trying to lessen the impact that lead and other impurities have on residents of metro Detroit and its surrounding areas. His work for the Americorps Urban Safety Program has only just started, but he hopes to continue it for the foreseeable future, all while trying to better his community.
