Biography

Fatima earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health and minor in Chemistry from Wayne State University. In 2022, she graduated with her Master of Public Health degree, which she also obtained from Wayne State University. Fatima is a lifelong resident within the metro-Detroit area.

In April of 2023, Fatima joined the WSU Center for Urban Studies, working primarily with the AmeriCorps Urban Safety Program’s Water Filtration Project (AMUS WFP), where she developed a WFP replication manual for state-wide utilization. She will be working as a Research Assistant/AMUS Coordinator. Fatima is passionate about mitigating public health disparities, particularly those that arise from socioeconomic barriers and marginalization. In her free time, Fatima enjoys arts and crafts, reading, eating good food, and of course, spending time with friends and family.
