Michelle Golembieski joined the Center in May 2019 as a Research Assistant. She is supporting a planning program in response to the rising number of overdose fatalities resulting from the use of heroin and other opioids.
Michelle completed a B.S. in Environmental Science in 2013 from Oakland University. Afterwards, she spent 5 years working in environmental, place-based education at multiple sites across Southeast Michigan. She developed an interest in food systems and, as a result, directed a summer program for over 400 youth and coordinated a local Community Supported Agriculture. Her work in community nutrition with Bloomfield Hills Schools seeded an interest to pursue a master’s degree in public health, which she will complete in August 2019.
