AMUS / Urban Safety
BreAnna Lockhart first joined the Center for Urban Studies in Winter of 2014 as volunteer with the Center's AmeriCorps Urban Safety Program. After two years organizing communities within Detroit's east side, she progressed to become a research assistant with dual roles as a coordinator for the program, as well as a CompStat Analyst. BreAnna currently leads the CompStat Initiative, even helping to establish a new component -- Youth CompStat, studying youth victimization within the City of Detroit. With a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Studies from Wayne State University, BreAnna hopes to finish her Master's in Public Administration in Winter of 2020 and continue on to work within the City of Detroit to address and solve issues involving crime, education and public health.
