AMUS / Urban Safety
In May 2018, I completed my undergrad at Michigan State University with a BA in criminal justice and additional major in psychology. I am looking forward to continuing my interest of criminal justice by addressing and researching the crime within the city of Detroit. At the Center for Urban Studies, I will be focusing on crime and public safety, and analyzing crime data/maps for CompStat meetings.
During my time at MSU, I was involved in working for various areas within the criminal justice system. I had internships with the Michigan State Police and the Office of Inspector General. With my internship with MSP, I was able to assist analysts within their intelligence unit. My focus was on analyzing crime trends and to research efforts on helping to find or identify individuals. With my time at the Office of Inspector General for Health and Human Services, my work entailed investigating cases of fraudulent government funding. I also had the opportunity to be involved at a domestic violence shelter where I received training on domestic violence counseling.
