Upcoming AMUS Events - March 2015

For the second year in a row, George Washington University (Washington, D.C.) is partnering with the AmeriCorps Urban Safety Program for their annual Alternative Spring Break.

Last year, we worked together in Midtown and Osborn to improve safe routes to school for Detroit Public School students. Together, we boarded up over 20 properties, cleared numerous bags of trash, and had a good time!

This year, we’ll be improving safe routes in the Morningside neighborhood. We will be engaging in a board-up of 10 houses between Monday, March 9 and Tuesday, March 10. Please join us in service on one or both of the dates below!

Day 1: March 9, 2015

Volunteer registration will be held at Clark J.E., Elementary (15755 Bremen St, Detroit, MI 48224). Registration will kick off promptly at 8:30am! The day’s events are slated to run from 9-4pm.
